چکیده
Squeezing of light’s quantum noise requires temporal rearranging of photons. This again corresponds to creation of quantum correlations between individual photons. Squeezed light is a non-classical manifestation of light with great potential in high-precision quantum measurements, for example in the detection of gravitational waves [1]. Equally promising applications have been proposed in quantum communication [2]. However, after 20 years of intensive research doubts arose whether strong squeezing can ever be realized as required for eminent applications. Here we show experimentally that strong squeezing of light’s quantum noise is possible. We reached a benchmark squeezing factor of 10 in power (10 dB). Thorough analysis reveals that even higher squeezing factors will be feasible in our setup. Theoretical considerations about the possible existence of light with squeezed quantum noise can be traced back to the 1920’s. However, only after applications for squeezed light

We present the first experimental observation of quantum fluctuation spectra in two coupled optical cavities with an injected squeezed vacuum light. The quadrature components of the reflected squeezed vacuum spectra are measured by phase sensitive homodyne detector. The experimental results demonstrate coupled-resonator-induced transparency in the quantum regime, in which electromagnetically-in...
متن کاملLong-term stable squeezed vacuum state of light for gravitational wave detectors
Currently, the German/British gravitational wave detector GEO 600 is being upgraded in course of the GEO-HF program. One part of this upgrade consists of the integration of a squeezed light laser to nonclassically improve the detection sensitivity at frequencies where the instrument is limited by shot noise. This has been achieved recently [1]. The permanent employment of squeezed light in grav...

A pair of two level atoms A1A2, prepared either in a separable state or in an entangled state interacts with a single mode of two mode squeezed cavity field while a third atomic qubit B interacts with the second mode of the field in a remote cavity. We analyze, numerically, the dependence of three qubit entanglement generation, sudden death and revival on the degree of squeezing of electromagne...

The Shor algorithm [1] to factor numbers and its NMRimplementation [2] have propelled the field of quantum computation [3]. Recently a different factorization scheme [4] taking advantage of the periodicity properties of Gauss sums [5] has been proposed [6] and verified by two NMR-experiments [7, 8] and one experiment based on short laser pulses [9]. In the present paper we report the first impl...
